  • What is Lakshmi Prapti Puja?

Lakshmi Prapti Puja is the sacred worship of Goddess Mahalakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu and the divine Goddess of prosperity, abundance, fortune, and auspiciousness. In Sanatan Dharma, Mahalakshmi is not merely regarded as the giver of material wealth but also as the source of Aishwarya (prosperity), Dhanya (food and nourishment), Dhairya (courage), Vidya (knowledge), Santana (progeny), Vijaya (victory), and spiritual well-being.
The puja is performed with Kalash Sthapana, Sri Yantra (where traditionally followed), chanting of the Sri Sukta, Lakshmi Ashtottara Shatanamavali, Kanakadhara Stotram, and offerings of lotus flowers, kumkum, turmeric, sandalwood, fruits, sweets, betel leaves, and ghee lamps. Many devotees also perform Lakshmi-Narayana Puja, recognizing that Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu are worshipped together for complete prosperity and preservation.
Lakshmi Prapti Puja is commonly organized on Fridays, Deepavali, Akshaya Tritiya, Sharad Purnima, Kojagiri Purnima, Dhanteras, Varalakshmi Vratam, and other auspicious occasions dedicated to Mahalakshmi.
